Another sunny walk at Coate Water
I can’t believe the amount of sun we’re having! I think the weather is just making up for being so miserable this Winter. We deserve this after not seeing the sun for 3 months! Anyway, it definitely knows it’s Spring now and for that, I’m thankful.
We couldn’t miss the chance to venture out given the perfect weather. After some deliberation, my Mum, brother and I decided to take a stroll around glorious Coate Water. Nothing I love more than doing the same thing two Saturdays in a row! Well, to be honest, I didn’t mind as Coate is one of my favourite places to go. So, here’s another array of photos from our trip to Coate Water, week 9 edition! Lovely to go out with family on this occasion too.
Fun at the cinema
Finally went to see Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy with my Mum, and after emerging from the Cinema (spoiler ahead) I’m questioning why it was even called that. My takeaway was that the film is centred around Bridget finding herself, as well as love, after losing her husband Mark, as opposed to her relationship with ‘the boy’. This relationship only lasted half the film anyway. Based on what the trailer gave us, it surprised me when that relationship wasn’t the endgame. But at the same time, I was happy it wasn’t. The outcome of the film was truly perfect for Bridget!
Despite the film being hilarious, I cried more than I laughed. How could a funny and endearing film be so devastating?! I wasn’t expecting it to make me cry as much as it did, but it added some much-needed emotion to the film so no complaints here. The balance between sad and happy was executed so well and made for a very good film!
Mint chocolate cupcakes
Looking for something a little quirky to bake this week, I sought these mint chocolate cupcakes from the trusted Jane’s Patisserie. I became aware of her recipes a while ago but only started going to her website alone to find recipes a few months ago. She never disappoints and has ideas in abundance! I could search for practically anything, no matter how niche, and there’ll be a recipe for it. Not to mention, her NYC cookies are so yummy that they’re iconic, and she has about 20 different flavour variations you can choose from.
These cupcakes were a simple thing to bake and despite the controversial flavour the family rather liked them. My Dad of course chirped in his classic “they’re calorific!” after I asked him what he thought, but translated, I think that’s just his way of saying “I like them.” Full credit to Jane’s Patisserie for this recipe, which I’ve linked for you here!
This week’s question is: What’s one thing you’re excited for now we’re heading into the better Spring weather? My answer: Going on more outdoor trips with my friend. Comment yours below!
And comment a green heart emoji on this post over on Instagram so I know you’ve come from my Life Bloom blog!
Thanks for reading and happy Spring!
