It was good to go out and test each mic so I could test and hear the difference between four different microphones. Some of them had a cleaner sound than others and some had more surround sound than others. After listening to each one during editing I found that the external mic sounded the best, but that was my opinion. Listening back was an interesting experience as I got to hear all the different sounds next to each other. From my point of view, all of the mics were good enough, it just depends what kind of sound you want. If you want to expose the nature around you, going with something that has more surround sound is a good idea. If you want to focus on the dialogue then one with less would be a better choice.
